It’s hard to believe that the holidays are just around the corner! With each passing year, time seems to speed up. We all say it, right? “Wow, where did this year go?” “I need to find time to do [insert the thing you’ve been putting off here].”
It’s only after you’ve come close to having time taken away from you do you realize that you must make time to do what’s important.
I recently spent the evening with my family, celebrating my mother’s 75th birthday. Scheduling for my family is always an interesting task! It took a few months for all of us to be available, but I’m happy to say it was definitely worth the wait.
On the drive home, I was feeling so happy and loved. I spent the time reliving the evening in my head. The conversation was lively, there was an abundance of laughter and stories that started with “remember when…” And of course, the scheduling of our next Benning outing.
I feel blessed to have 50-plus years of memories together with my family. We’ve weathered many storms and supported each other through all of life’s moments, both good and bad. My siblings are my lifelong friends, and I don’t know what I’d do without them.
I know life gets busy, but it’s so important to make time for family, friend, and loved ones. In short, making time to do what makes you happy.
So, put the phone down, turn the computer off, and schedule time for the people in your life that matter the most.
Because time is fleeting and oh, so precious.
